What is Coronavirus?
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness caused by a new virus. Symptoms range from a mild cough to pneumonia. Some people may recover easily, while others may get very sick very quickly. The virus can spread quite quickly from person to person. Good hygiene can prevent infection.
The Coronavirus is nothing new
Coronaviruses are a big group of viruses that cause illnesses such as the common cold or more recent diseases including SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) and MERS. Simply, COVID-19 is a new strain from this family that has not previously been identified in humans.
The viruses are named for the corona, or crown, of surface proteins that the virus uses to penetrate the cells of its host.
Know COVID–19s signs and symptoms

If you have any of the above symptoms and have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19 or have recently travelled from an area with an ongoing spread of COVID-19, seek medical advice.
Call ahead before you go to a doctor’s office or emergency room. Tell them about your recent travel and your symptoms.
